In a press release, Starcraft Bus, in accordance with the guidelines of and in cooperatin with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), announced the voluntary safety recall of the school bus models Prodigy and Quest, manufactured in 2010 and 2011 from April 12, 2011 through June 6, 2011. The recall was initiated after the company discovered that the self-latching mechanism used to retain the seat cushion to the frame may not consistently engage. This defect may result in injury to occupants in the event of a crash. This recall campaign was launched during December of 2011. The company notified affected owners and replaced the self-latching mechanism free of charge.
As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, I think it’s important to closely watch the news from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in order to relay important safety news to a wider audience and, hopefully, help in preventing avoidable injuries. If you have suffered an injury in an accident that you believe resulted from a defective auto part, speak with a personal injury lawyer in your area to discuss your legal rights and the options that may be available to you.
